Solahart Northern Tasmania

Brendan Turriff

18 Invermay Rd, Launceston TAS 7248

Our business has been servicing Northern Tasmania for more than 60 years and are synonymous with the greater Launceston area, in particular. We have been a Solahart dealer for nearly four decades, with some of the first solar hot water systems we ever installed in the late 70’s and early 80’s, still in operation. In that time, we have installed and serviced thousands of solar systems, making us one of the most well established and sought-after solar specialists in Tasmania.

In 2013, the business was purchased by Damien and Kirsty Pedder. Back in the day, Damien completed his plumbing apprenticeship with the previous owners. After leaving to operate his own business, he came full-circle acquiring both the Solahart and Plumbing businesses, and merging them into one.

Today, we directly employ 16 staff and utilise the expertise of numerous contractors across the East Coast, Central North and the North-West Coast regions of Tasmania.

Brendan Turriff manages Solahart Northern Tasmania’s sales and projects, providing customized commercial and domestic solutions for solar hot water, solar power and battery storage. A free, on-site assessment is the best way to analyse your consumption for a tailored recommendation. Call in and see us at our Invermay showroom or give us a call to book your appointment.

Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme EXTENDED

1 May, 2018

30th May 2018

THE overwhelming success of the Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme (TEELS) has helped thousands of Tasmanians become more energy efficient, while also providing a major boost to the local economy. This success is why Aurora Energy is excited to continue its partnership with Westpac and the Tasmanian Government to extend TEELS.

Launched 12 months ago, TEELS assists customers to make energy saving changes through the purchase of energy efficient products for their homes and small businesses via no-interest finance. The extension of TEELS will now see the scheme run until 30 April 2019 or until the additional $20 million finance pool is exhausted.

Aurora Energy CEO Rebecca Kardos said solar panels and battery storage systems have accounted for nearly 3,000 of the product requests received to date, while close to 1,700 Tasmanians submitted requests to upgrade their heating. “With winter just around the corner, it’s great to know that hundreds of Tasmanians have more efficient ways to heat their homes, and thousands more now have the same opportunity to do the same,” Mrs Kardos said. To date, almost $19 million has been approved by scheme partner Westpac to around 2,400 applicants, with nearly $13 million of this already injected directly into the Tasmanian economy.

Newnham 'Optimized' PV Install

9 March, 2017

Solahart Northern Tasmania have installed a 4.48kW / 16 Panel Optimized system on a home in Newnham. The world-leading REC Twin Peak 280W panels are individually monitored using SolarEdge Optimizers. The flexibility of the Power Optimizers enabled us to install 3 panels out the NW – Something not achievable with a typical string system. A few days following installation, we have seen this system performing beyond its capability, reaching and sustaining the maximum output of the inverter – 4.985kW. Now our customer has everything they need enter the battery market when ready.
